Atlantic Sapphire has been named ‘Star of Innovation’ at the annual European Small and Mid-Cap Awards 2019 held in Brussels.
Atlantic Sapphire is the first seafood company to win this title since the awards were launched in 2013. This award recognizes Atlantic Sapphire’s mission-driven, innovative approach while delivering superior investment returns to shareholders. Atlantic Sapphire is listed on the Merkur market, Oslo Bors.
The objective of the Awards is to promote best practices and highlight the best European Small and Mid-Sized Companies that have gained access to capital markets via an Initial Public Offering (IPO). They aim to promote stock listings, in particular targeting SMEs and growth companies.
Atlantic Sapphire places research & development and sustainability at the centre of its strategy and has shown continuous improvement in the development of its Bluehouse technology over the past ten years.
‘We are honoured to be named the most innovative company in the European Small and Midcap Awards,’ said Atlantic Sapphire finance director Karl Øystein Øyehaug as he accepted the award at an event in Brussels.
Atlantic Sapphire is well advanced in the construction of its first phase, Bluehouse facility in Miami, which is set to become the world’s largest land-based salmon farming operation by 2020, aiming to produce 10,000 tonnes annually.
